The Brief:

Create a campaign to promote Showmax’s Premier League offer

The Solution:

We wanted to tap into something culturally-relevant for the African market and decided upon a barbershop scene, which we felt would resonate across the continent. The premise is simple but effective- a football fan pays for a new ‘look’ (hairstyle) based upon his favourite Premier League footballer, is satisfied with it, then hears that for roughly the same price he can see the Premier League every month, on Showmax. We think art direction did a wonderful job with the existing barber shop we found in Soweto, as did the two actors who both pop with energy.
